Conishead Medical Group were in talks with a neighbouring practice with a view to a possible merger. Unfortunately, both practices felt after due consideration that the merger was not a viable option. After this decision not to merge was agreed, Conishead Medical Group made the difficult decision to hand back their contract to NHS England and withdraw from their role in providing the service as from 31 December 2017.
NHS Sunderland CCG is responsible for ensuring patients have access to General Practice services and we are now taking steps to decide the best way to do this. This is the usual practice in the NHS when a contract comes to an end. All patients for Conishead have been sent a survey asking for their views, and were also been invited to attend two patient information sessions taking place at Ryhope Community Centre on 17th July 2017.
The information collected through the survey and information sessions is currently being analysed, and will be uploaded here in the near future.
